Kitsunes are described as being fox creatures with above average strenth and speed. Some Kitsunes have certain special abilities, such as the ability to shapeshift and the ability to read messages in the stars. Kitsunes have often been compared to Karasu Tengus because of their great mischief and comparable abilities.

Low-class Kitsunes are very common to find in Japan and China, unlike the high-class Kyubi Kitsunes who despite their sparse population hold much greater powers. Low-class Kitsunes are divided into two groups: the Byako (white or pure) Kitsunes and the Genko (dark) Kitsunes.
